Synchronicities: events in time that are seemingly related and may appear in perfect timing with another situation that has just happened or is happening repeatedly.
What comes to your mind when you think of SYNCHRONICITY? Does it mean anything to you? Do you take note when you are thinking of someone you haven't heard from in a while and they call you shortly after? When you hear a song on the radio that confirms what you were thinking? When you keep seeing repeated numbers like 555 or 1111? When your consciousness keeps noticing a certain animal, or kind of car, or meeting people with the same name?
Do you dismiss it as coincidence? Do you give it much thought? Do you think people who believe it means something are crazy? Have you ever tried following the thread? If you are reading this blog it is likely that you are familiar with this phenomenon. Today I decided to write about it because it is the anniversary of one of my favorite "threads" and I though you might get a kick out of it.
Today is November 30 and while it's not really a date that is generally celebrated, for me it is burned into my memory as one of my favorite series of synchronicities to this day! Bear with me...once you start noticing the signs, the Universe becomes quite a storyteller. I'll try to keep it reigned in...
So, there I was, living in Normal. The year that I was 30 years old (you know...like just yesterday...only a while ago-haha) the Grateful Dead were also celebrating their 30th anniversary. I went to quite a few shows on their spring and summer tours, including Jerry Garcia's last show at Soldier Field in Chicago. On the lot (aka "Shakedown Street") there were people selling t-shirts and bumper stickers that had lines from my favorite song-Stella Blue. They said "All the years combine, they melt into a dream 1965-1995"
Well...(here's were I divulge my Earth years with disbelief...) because I was born on New Year's Eve 1964, every time I saw someone walk by with one I kept saying "1965-1995! It's my life flashing before my eyes!" Little did we all know that it was going to be Jerry's last tour and the end of the Grateful Dead as we knew it.
For me, it was another piece of the puzzle that began to play out quite a bit earlier and I was used to watching for these kind of patterns. By 1995 I had become quite a decoder. Bonus points to Spirit for this one...in 1995 one of my sons turned 4 of February 4th, my other one turned 6 on September 6th, and I turned 31 on December 31st. All of our "Golden Birthdays" were the same year.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the character in a TV series on another planet! #trumanshow
